MAXWELL'S DEMON
by Barry Thorson
"Everyone in Mountain Dale is cool except Charlie. She's a manufacturer's defect... stuck between the odes like a broken record. Dad's been gone for as long as she can remember, but he left behind a secret encoded message, scratched onto the spinning black vinyl of his record collection. In addition to discovering the music, Charlie discovers the truth about her dad's departure, the inheritance he left behind, and the little voice that works like a demon to keep the hot stuff hot and the cool stuff cool."
This new play written by Barry Thorson was professionally developed through the Alberta Playwrights Network. It featured Rachael Johnston as Charlie, is directed by James DeFelice, with stage management by Geoffrey Ewert.
The reading was produced by APN and Lone Wolf Theatre as part of the Countdown to Playworks Ink.
Maxwell's Demon received two readings in the fall of 2005: October 12th at the Auburn Saloon and November 22nd at the Nan Boothby Library in Cochrane.
